Belotero® in Melbourne, FL
Belotero® is a specialized injectable filler that reduces vertical folds and very fine wrinkles around the nose and mouth and forehead while also increasing the skin’s natural hydration process. Belotero® is available at Dermatology + Plastic Surgery, led by board-certified dermatologist Anita Saluja, MD and double board-certified plastic surgeon Rebecca Novo, MD, serving Melbourne, Viera, Brevard County, the beaches, and surrounding areas. Dr. Saluja is currently limiting her skin cancer dermatology practice to her aesthetic/anti-aging patients and their adult family members. New patients for Dr. Saluja should have a referral from a current client. Dr. Saluja no longer accepts CareCredit® as a form of payment.
What Is Belotero®?
Belotero® is an FDA-approved dermal filler that rejuvenates the facial appearance by specifically diminishing the appearance of nasolabial folds or creases that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth, as well as other lines and creases in the area of the nose and mouth. We also use Belotero for fine forehead lines or fine depressed facial scars.
How Does Belotero® Work?
Belotero® works by delivering hyaluronic acid, a natural substance produced by the human body that helps retain moisture and hydration in the skin, directly to targeted areas, triggering skin cells to gradually augment skin volume. Over time, the skin becomes increasingly plump, causing wrinkles to fade away naturally and gradually. Belotero® is a minimally invasive procedure that requires minimal downtime and provides long-lasting results.
What conditions does Belotero® treat?
Belotero® specifically treats wrinkles, lines and creases in the area of the mouth and nose, particularly the nasolabial folds that extend from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth and fine wrinkles around the lips. Natural-looking improvements appear gradually and naturally, as the Belotero® gel restores your skin’s natural ability to retain moisture.
Who is a good candidate for Belotero®?
Any adult in good health who wants to eliminate lines, creases, wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth region may benefit from Belotero® treatments. Although Belotero® is safe for most adults, it may cause an allergic reaction in some individuals and is not recommended for anyone who suffers from multiple or severe allergies. Patients who have a history of anaphylaxis or allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins should not use Belotero®. At your initial consultation with Dermatology + Plastic Surgery, we will determine if Belotero® is right for you.
How should I prepare for Belotero® treatment?
It is important for our team to assess your medical history prior to treatment. Please let us know if you have a history of herpes prior to your treatment. You may be advised to suspend any medications you may be taking that affect blood clotting, such as aspirin, NSAIDs or blood thinners, as well as medicines that may affect your immune system. If you have any type of skin reaction or irritation, such as cold sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives, or an infection, you may have to postpone treatment until the condition has cleared up.
How is Belotero® Administered?
Belotero® is injected directly into target areas using an ultra-fine needle. The skin on the treatment area is numbed with a topical anesthetic prior to administering the injections to reduce any potential discomfort during treatment.
What can I expect from Belotero®?
Belotero® treatment produces improved firmness and skin volume that may be noticed immediately, reducing wrinkles, lines, and creases. Over time, as the hyaluronic acid in Belotero® causes your skin cells to retain more moisture, the skin continues to plump and lines and wrinkles continue to fade away gradually. Best results are seen two weeks after treatment. For most patients, Belotero® is touched up at a follow-up treatment in six months.
Cost of Belotero® In Melbourne, FL
The cost of Belotero® treatment depends on the size and condition of the target area and the extent of your treatment. As an elective cosmetic procedure, Belotero® is not covered by health insurance. To help manage payments, our office accepts various forms of payment for your convenience.
