What is Sofwave:

Sofwave is an ultrasound device that delivers patented technology known as Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB) into the skin through the stimulation of new collagen. Sofwave is FDA-approved for lifting submental and neck tightening and fine line correction as well as tightening the lateral forehead to lift the eyebrow, reducing fine lines and wrinkles for a youthful appearance.

The Sofwave™ beams penetrate the tissue creating a fractional heating effect at the optimal depth of 1.5mm in the mid-dermis. We do recommend avoiding treatment over areas with dermal filler for 2 weeks.

Who is a good candidate for Sofwave:

An ideal Sofwave candidate has mild to moderate skin laxity, fine lines, and wrinkles on the lower face and neck area. A typical Sofwave patient is not ready for surgical intervention. Low-lying brows with skin laxity superior to the brow on the lateral forehead would also be a great candidate for Sofwave’s ultrasound tightening technology to lift brows.

What does collagen do? How does Sofwave™ stimulate the creation of collagen?:

Collagen is naturally occurring in the dermis and is responsible for keeping the skin firm and youthful. After our late teens and early twenties, we break down collagen, on average 1% annually which results in laxity of the skin and crepiness. Sofwave’s™ Synchronous

Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology SUPERB™ technology produces heat delivering at a depth in the dermis to promote new collagen.

How many treatments does it take:

The For Your Best Self Sofwave treatment is done in one treatment. Rarely, a second time 4 to 6 months may be performed after the initial treatment for optimal collagen stimulation and fine line reduction. Be sure to communicate your aesthetic skin goals with your expert Sofwave provider to ensure your maximal results are achieved!

Is Sofwave safe?:

Sofwave is safe and no adverse events or reactions occurred in the clinical studies. Sofwave has a cooling mechanism known as the Sofcool™ that helps to protect the outer layer of the skin or the epidermis from burning.

What does the Sofwave treatment feel like?:

The ultrasound technology delivered into the skin feels like a warm or “spicy” sensation that is short-lived with no downtime or recovery post-treatment. Patients will topically numb the area with our compounded magical numbing cream for optimal comfort! Patients are able to resume their daily activities immediately post-treatment.

Can Sofwave replace the need for surgical intervention?

Sofwave is a great alternative for those that are not ready for surgical intervention or lengthy downtime. Sofwave does not replace the need for surgery and will not deliver the same level of dramatic lifting as plastic surgery.
