What Is Juvederm®?

Juvederm® is a dermal filler that is FDA approved and contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that helps skin cells retain hydration. Juvederm® works by gradually increasing the skin’s natural ability to retain moisture, improving fullness and volume and diminishing the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and creases, gradually and naturally.

Juvederm® has become very popular because it is minimally invasive, it contains natural hyaluronic acid similar to that produced in the human body, and it effectively reduces the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and creases, by gradually increasing hydration and volume in the skin cells naturally. The beauty of Juvederm® is that results continue to improve gradually, producing results that last up to 12 months. Juvederm® treatment is a simple outpatient procedure performed in the doctor’s office and requires no downtime.

Who can benefit from Juvederm® treatment?

Juvederm® has been deemed safe and effective for most adult men and women in good physical condition who wish to diminish the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and creases in the facial area gradually and naturally while improving the overall condition of their skin.

How should I prepare for Juvederm® treatment?

Certain precautions are recommended prior to your Juvederm® treatment, such as avoiding consumption of alcohol for at least two days prior to your session. You may also have to suspend taking certain blood-thinning medications and supplements to prepare for treatment. Contact our office to schedule a consultation and learn how you should prepare for Juvederm®.

How is Juvederm® Administered?

Juvederm® is injected directly into the target areas using a very fine-gauge needle or micro-cannula to deliver hyaluronic acid into different layers of skin. Most patients find the procedure relatively painless because the product has a smooth, pleasant consistency and contains lidocaine, an effective topical anesthetic. The procedure is completed in 30 to 60 minutes and produces immediately noticeable results and gradually continued improvement over several months. Mild swelling and bruising is possible, so it is advised to receive Juvederm treatment at least 2 weeks prior to special events.

How Long Do Juvederm® Results Last?

Juvederm® treatments typically last 6 to 12 months. You may return anytime after 2 weeks for touch-up treatments and after 6 months for follow-up treatment. Some patients return earlier and some return later based on their individual needs.

How Much Does Juvederm® Cost In Melbourne?

Juvederm® treatments vary in price according to how much product is used. Cost estimates range from $500 to $1500. Insurance does not typically cover Juvederm® treatments, so our office accepts various forms of payment.

Juvederm for laugh lines – One of the most common filler locations are the laugh lines or smile lines that form around the mouth with age.

Juvederm for under eye wrinkles – Deep folds under the eyes lead to a tired, older appearance that Juvederm can help lift for a youthful appearance.

Juvederm for frown lines – Sometimes, fillers like Juvederm can be a subtle way to decrease the depth of folds like the frown lines.

Juvederm for crow’s feet – Crinkles at the corners of the eyes are often due to over-use of muscles but can some times benefit from a little added volume with Juvederm.

Juvederm for lip lines – Lip lines around the mouth are a hallmark of the aging process, especially for people with certain genetics. Add volume and smooth out these wrinkles with Juvederm.

Juvederm for vertical lip lines – Not only used for sheer augmentation, Juvederm can also be used to smooth out the skin of the lips to make them look younger and photo-ready.
