How can Laser Skin Resurfacing or IPL Photofacials improve the condition of my skin?
Laser skin resurfacing or a laser peel is a safe and effective cosmetic treatment that reduces imperfections on the face, such as wrinkles, blemishes, capillaries, discoloration, and acne scars.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photofacials, sometimes referred to as broadband light, improve the signs of sun damage. A series of 2 to 3 treatments is recommended for complexion claritiy.
Especially for the hands, our Co2 Swift Scan effectively turns back time that shows here in under 10 minutes.
How does Laser Skin Resurfacing work?
Fractional CO2 and Erbium lasers use scanners that divides the lasers’ beams into tiny shafts of light. These shafts of light penetrate through the epidermis and introduce heat into the sub-dermal layers of the skin. This heat causes skin cells to reproduce more rapidly to heal the injury thus stimulating collagen, reducing wrinkles, removing surface pigmentation, and improving texture.

Who is a good candidate for Laser Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing is recommended for healthy adults who want to improve lines and wrinkles, sunspots, capillaries, scars, or other imperfections from their skin and is safe and effective for adult men and women of any age. It is a must to inform us if you have a history of herpes (cold sores or fever blisters). We sometimes advise to avoid laser resurfacing if your skin tone is of a darker complexion. We often prefer alternate methods of treatment for brown and black skin types so please ask for a personalized consultation.
What can I expect during the Skin Resurfacing treatment?
Laser skin resurfacing takes about a half hour to an hour to complete after preparation time, and you must wear protective eyewear during the procedure. Your face or area to be treated will be cleansed thoroughly, and a topical anesthetic will be applied for an hour prior to treatment to ensure your comfort while a handheld laser device or IPL hand piece is used to direct the pulsating beams into your skin. Especially for the hands, our Co2 Swift Scan effectively turns back time that shows here in under 10 minutes. Erbium and C02 laser resurfacing, additional medications will be prescribed for comfort and relaxation. We encourage you to come in to discuss the benefits of resurfacing, including for complexion and on the eyelids.
What Can I Expect After Laser Skin Resurfacing?
An ointment will be prescribed which you will use to keep your skin moist and help it heal. The skin will be red and swollen. Within a day after laser treatments, the skin may begin to peel, a process that may take about seven to 10 days, after which your face may appear reddish for up to two months as new skin cells surface. With laser resurfacing, women can resume wearing makeup after about 7 to 10 days, while men must refrain from shaving the treatment area for about 7 to 10 days following this procedure.
With IPL photofacials, the recovery is milder and most people continue normal activity.
