Five Tips to Speed your Breast Augmentation Recovery

  1. Establish support at home.Breast Augmentation in Melbourne, FL

You will likely feel tired for a few days after surgery, which is normal. It is ideal to minimize emotional and physical stress before and after surgery, as excess stress can lead to increased risk of complications.  Also, designate your support team, whether it’s your significant other, best friend, or another family member. Be make sure they understand you will require additional pampering and support for the initial few days after surgery. If you have small children, it is recommended to arrange enough help so that you can recover without worrying about their well-being.

  2. Exercise.

Engaging in physical activity for 30 minutes per day before your procedure is a good way to prepare your body and lungs for surgery and anesthesia. It is important to be in the best possible health before undergoing any procedures.

  3. Get your nutrients.

Optimize your healing ability by taking a multivitamin daily, and eating an adequate amount of healthy daily calories and protein leading to surgery.  It is important to note that this is not a time to crash diet. Your body needs energy and protein to heal!

  4. Limit alcohol.

It is always recommended to minimize alcohol intake before and after surgery. Alcohol can lead to increased risk of bleeding and bruising, as well as dehydration.  You will have plenty of time to celebrate after you’re completely healed!

  5. Be prepared.

Before your surgery be prepared with appropriate post-procedure supplies such as your prescriptions (typically something for pain, nausea, and antibiotics). Be sure to have comfortable clothing (preferably a front zip, snap, or button top to avoid reaching over your head), and one to two support bras with front closures. It is also a good idea to have plenty of prepared food at your home, so you don’t have to think about shopping or cooking during your recovery period. The best post-surgery foods include applesauce, broth and electrolytes replacement beverages.
