WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?
Liposuction is a procedure that uses a gentle vacuum extraction technique to permanently remove fat from the neck and body.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM LIPOSUCTION?
Liposuction is safe for most healthy adults; however, it cannot be expected to produce significant weight loss. Liposuction effectively diminishes stubborn fatty deposits that still linger after weight loss, despite a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Liposuction is a safe procedure and may be performed on almost any area of the body.
HOW CAN LIPOSUCTION IMPROVE MY APPEARANCE?
Weight changes, pregnancy, or even the aging process can cause fatty deposits to accumulate in problem areas of the neck and body, such as “love handles,” a double chin, or bulges in the abdomen, back or thighs. Liposuction eliminates this fatty tissue safely and permanently (with maintenance of stable weight), creating a smooth and defined contour.
OUR SIGNATURE LIPOSUCTION + RENUVION® PROCEDURE
Liposuction is performed with anesthesia, the type depends on the area of the body and the amount of fatty tissue to be removed. The procedure uses a suctioning technique to extract excess fatty tissue from target areas via a small incision using a fine tube called a cannula. Liposuction may be used to treat one or more areas and may be combined with other procedures for optimal results. We are excited to be introducing Renuvion® by J-Plasma® used in combination with all of our signature liposuction procedures. Renuvion® is the latest technology offering incredible skin tightening and skin quality improvement. Heated helium gas uniquely distributes radiofrequency heat to surrounding tissues in a gentle application to create unparalleled skin tightening.
Liposuction recovery may include minor discomfort such as swelling and soreness in the first few days following treatment, but these symptoms subside very quickly. Our staff will be on hand to guide you through pre and postoperative instructions and care with detailed information to help keep you comfortable throughout the recovery period. You will be advised to wear a customized compression garment during recovery for six weeks to reduce swelling and support and tighten healing tissue.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED LIPOSUCTION OR A TUMMY TUCK?
A tummy tuck is ideal for patients who have a significant amount of extra skin on the lower abdomen (below the belly button), or have laxity in the abdominal wall musculature after pregnancy. Liposuction is best suited for patients who maintain a healthy stable weight to remove bulges of fatty tissue from specific target areas. While a tummy tuck surgically tightens underlying abdominal muscles and trims away large areas of extra skin, creating a dramatically slimmer silhouette, liposuction simply extracts pockets of fatty tissue through a tiny incision. Scarring after liposuction is minimal, while a tummy tuck leaves a hairline scar across the lower abdomen, typically from hip to hip.
HOW MUCH DOES LIPOSUCTION COST IN MELBOURNE?
The cost of a liposuction treatment depends on such factors as the number of treatment areas and other procedures that may be combined with your procedure. Since liposuction is not normally covered by health insurance providers, you are welcome to discuss financing options with our dedicated and knowledgeable staff.
