With so many different sunscreen options available on the market today, it can be difficult to decide which sunscreen option is best for you. Here at Dermatology + Plastic Surgery, we carry an amazing selection of sunscreens, and would love to help guide in the direction of which product can help support your journey towards your best self!

Sunscreen is an integral part of an effective skincare regimen. Some of the benefits of wearing sunscreen not only include reduction in the risk of non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers, but also can help reduce the risk of sunburns, hyperpigmentation, and premature aging. We recommend physical blockers such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, and to use about a teaspoon full for the face, and one shot glass-sized amount for the body. Don’t forget to apply every 2 hours with any prolonged sun exposure.

At Dermatology + Plastic Surgery, we carry specific sunscreens based on the needs of our patients. Whether you have sensitive skin, are looking for waterproof options, or want the highest level of protection offered, we can help! We will share with you a few of our favorites that we carry in office.

The Total Defense + Repair by SkinMedica is an SPF 34, Waterproof sunscreen with both tinted and untinted formulations that protect from Infrared Rays, UVA and UVB. What makes this sunscreen unique is the addition of their SOL-IR Advanced Antioxidant Complex, which helps protect against IR-A, reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin. We love TDR!

With Hydratint by Alastin, you get the best of both worlds! This sunscreen hydrates the skin while protecting from UVA/UVB rays, pollution, IR rays and blue lights. This is a water-resistant option that helps even and brighten skin tones and leaves no white residue!

Isdin is one of the best options for sunscreen protection. The Eryfotona Actinica and Eryfotona Ageless are ultralight mineral based sunscreens that contain unique DNA Repairsomes that help repair existing sun damage. Eryfotona Actinica is a great option for those concerned simply with sun damage, while Ageless is best for those concerned with fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness and elasticity, and sun damage.

We would love to help you find the best sunscreen that suits your lifestyle!
