Meet Melbourne Nationally-Certified Physician Assistant, Max Poling
Hi, I’m Max Poling, and I grew up right here in Melbourne Beach, FL. I attended Gemini Elementary School, Hoover Middle School, and Melbourne High School. My medical education started with my degree in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida. During this time, I was also an emergency medical technician for Brevard County Fire Rescue. Then, I graduated with honors with my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Jacksonville, Florida. I trained in plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and then went on to specialize in cosmetic and general dermatology. I worked with an esteemed dermatologist and Mohs surgeon in St. Augustine, FL and currently serve as a clinical assistant professor and preceptor for Florida State University College of Medicine.
Aesthetic medicine is a unique, harmonious blend of medicine as well as artistry. With a background in both dermatology and plastic surgery, I was able to build a strong foundation in anatomy and the skin. The ability to understand one’s wants and desires and then convert them into a treatment plan is something that is incredibly rewarding. I have always prioritized education when it comes to treatment options and developing a plan. Being trusted with the care of my patients is something that I hold in the utmost regard, and I am thankful for each and every result I am able to deliver.
Aesthetic medicine can be intimidating, with so many treatments and procedures available and not knowing which one is right. As a patient, you are opening up to me about concerns you might not always be comfortable discussing. Part of my job is to make sure that I educate you on why you are seeing what you are seeing and develop a treatment plan that accounts for your goals, timeline, physical comfort, and monetary ability. In a consultation, I think it’s incredibly important to prioritize education to better understand what’s being done and why.
I am a Galderma GAIN trainer, which means I train other practitioners in the assessment of the aging face and body and train them in the latest techniques in Dysport, Restylane, and Sculptra, made by Galderma. I have a particular interest in regenerative aesthetics and in biostimulatory fillers such as Sculptra, Radiesse, and Renuva. I have my license in both Florida and California.
I am happily married and have a daughter and a Vizsla. I enjoy spending time with my family and showing my daughter all the fun things that life has to offer. My wife and I are avid travelers and have visited more than 15 countries. In my free time, I enjoy doing just about anything outdoors. Some of my hobbies include surfing, golfing, fishing, biking, and diving.
