Medical Spa in Melbourne, FLWhat is the latest Botox® trend?

A few of the latest Botox® trends include starting Botox® earlier in age, as well as lighter or “sprinkle” doses for relaxation but not freezing of movement. Next, a new alternative is also on the market – called Jeuveau® #newtox – it is used in the same way as Botox® and is manufactured using Hi-Pure technology. Last, we are seeing more injections around the mouth (“Lip flip”), chin, and Nefertiti lift along upper neck/jawline.

Dr. Saluja & Dr. Novo highly recommend Nutrafol®. The ingredients in Nutrafol® that promote healthier hair also improve general wellness. There is solid science behind this product – it is clinically tested to improve hair thickness and growth. Nutrafol® can be taken by anyone 18 and over experiencing thinning hair or hair loss or who just wants to achieve thicker, faster-growing, stronger, healthier hair.

Think of it like the following – Nutrafol® is the “fertilizer” for your scalp (the soil) so that your hair (the plant/flowers) can grow better!!

How should I maintain my Dermal Fillers like Juvederm® and Restylane®?

There are a few great tips on how to make your fillers look better and last longer.

1. A good skincare regimen will enhance your filler treatment. We love Alastin® Restorative Complex, with its patented TriHEX technology that promotes healthy collagen and elastin growth. We also love to recommend our best selling HA5 by SkinMedica® which has 5 forms of Hyaluronic Acid (which is what fillers are made of!) – so you are getting HA from the inside out and outside in!

2. Regular maintenance with filler ensures your face continues to look natural and refreshed, with little to no fluctuation in your appearance. This is done usually every 6 to 9 months, sometimes yearly. Sculptra and Bellafill have different recommendations.

3. There are multiple fillers (Juvederm®, Voluma, Vollure, Ultra Plus, Restylane Silk®, Restylane® Defyne/Refyne, and more) Dr. Saluja likes to use depending on the area and outcome you want to achieve. Talk to our knowledgeable patient educators next time about which filler is best for you and follow Dr. Saluja’s advice as to when to come back in and freshen up your fillers.

Is breast enhancement still in fashion?

Definitely! Breast enhancement is as popular as always, just different trends are now more prominent when it comes to choices. Although ultimately it’s personal preference as to size and type of implant, we are seeing a shift towards patients choosing a more natural enhanced look. This can be achieved by choosing a smaller sized implant. Implant size is completely customizable but should be chosen with guidance from your board certified plastic surgeon as body proportions will change how certain volumes of implants look from patient to patient. In other words, do not fixate on a volume, cc, or cup size. Choose an implant that is proportional to your body and will minimize complications.

Is body sculpting or Coolsculpting® or TruSculpt® permanent?

The answer is yes, but there are a few things to keep in mind! In both CoolSculpting® and TruSculpt® fat cells are being destroyed and processed through your lymphatic system. Once these fat cells are destroyed, they are gone forever. Since every person is born with a definite number of fat cells, you won’t produce more. So once these cells are gone you will see a reduction in that area. However, if a healthy diet and lifestyle are not maintained your remaining fat cells can and WILL grow and make it seem like your treatment didn’t work. So although body sculpting treatments will give you a 25-30% fat reduction in the area treated, it is imperative to keep up with your exercise routine and a healthy diet. We chose Trusculpt® 3D over CoolSculpting® for the added benefit of radio frequency heat correlating with added benefit of skin tightening. Please consult with your board certified plastic surgeon to determine if non-invasive body contouring is the best choice for your goals.

What is liposuction recovery like?

Liposuction recovery can be broken into short and Long term. Realistically most people go back to work (depending on physical demands of job) in a few days to a week. But patients must wear a compressive garment to help support healing tissue 24/7 (other than hygiene aka showers) for six weeks or longer… depending on healing course. Compression helps reduce swelling as well as conform and smooth healing tissues
