Filler Dos and Don’ts

We believe it is important to educate everyone on important do’s and don’ts when deciding on injectable treatments.

1. Know Who is Injecting You

3. Don’t Mix Procedures with Alcohol

Alcohol increases your chance of bleeding, bruising and swelling. To minimize these side effects, avoid alcohol the day of treatment. We also advise avoiding blood thinners – aspirin, fish oils, Ibuprofen/Advil/Aleve – for one week prior to injection. You may take homeopathic Vitamedica Arnica 3 tablets three times daily for 3 days after treatment to reduce bruising /swelling. Before your next injection, you may start Arnica 3 days prior, as well. If you prefer Vitamedica’s Arnica cream, please apply this three times daily until bruising subsides. Cost is $18 to 22.

4. Location Matters

It should be clean & clinical, not salons, homes or parties.
In a clinical setting, you can be confident instruments are sterile and that we follow strict cleanliness in line with FDA. We are prepared in case of an emergency. Be sure your practitioner has Hylenex to dissolve filler in an emergency.

5. Opt for Someone Who Offers a Full Spectrum of Services

Not every patient is a good candidate for injections. For some patients, Botox and fillers may not yield desired outcomes. Cosmetic surgery may be better to achieve a patient’s goals. Selecting an injection provider who offers a broad spectrum of plastic surgery and non-surgical services can lend more individualized treatment plans.
