Treatment guide by Decade

The Best Self Team Experts Guide to treatments for each decade.

If you are overwhelmed with options or unsure where to start, follow along our guide for a few suggestions on what we consider essentials per decade for healthy, natural results.

In your 20’s:

“Starting a medical grade skin care regimen is one of the best investments you can make. Cleansing with a Clarisonic, protecting with a mineral SPF 30 or above, and renewing with a nighttime retinol will

ensure that you are being proactive in anti-aging and skin health. Retin-A is the only topical proven to prevent progression of aging and precancerous changes.” -Dr. Saluja

“A healthy lifestyle is fundamental to anti-aging, ie. not smoking, making good food choices, exercising and limiting UVA/B exposure. Supplementing with quarterly chemical peels and Hydrafacials is an excellent way to help your skin stay refined and glowing”. Dr. Novo

In your 30’s:

“More patients are starting Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau in their 30’s to ‘prejuvenate’, or prevent formation of deeper creases and wrinkles that form over time. Lip enhancement with HA fillers is also very attractive to rehydrate and create a softer look.” -Dr. Saluja

Microneedling is a great non-invasive way to boost collagen and accomplish anti-aging for the face and neck. Also start an eye cream! We often wait until we are behind, starting in your 30s will support elastin and hydrate this delicate overlooked skin. Surgically, breast enhancement/augmentation is also commonly considered in this age group” Dr. Novo

In your 40’s:

“Facial revolumization is important in your 40’s. Our structural features supported by bone and fat both start to recede which can be balanced with fillers and Sculptra“. Dr. Saluja

“Many women start to consider combination breast and abdomen procedures for contouring and restoring body balance, such as breast lifts, and abdominoplasty’s or ‘tummy tucks”, which permanently remove extra skin and fat. We are also pleased with our non-invasive fat reduction treatments with TruSculpt 3D for those who cannot have any recovery time.”- Dr. Novo

In your 50’s:

“The Y lift is a very special technique where fillers are used to rebuild the frames of the face: cheeks and jawline. This restores structure and lifts lax skin creating a more proportional and beautiful shape to the face.” Dr. Saluja

“The eyes are one of the most dramatically aging features on the face. Upper blepharoplasty can be done in the office! Lower blepharoplasty is often also done in combination if there are bags or loose skin”. My favorite in office transformation is upper bleph with CO2 resurfacing…often beautifully followed with Dr. Saluja’s Y-Lift!” -Dr. Novo

In your 60’s:

“Continue your skin care with the addition of growth factors and hydration and peptides to improve production of elasticity and collagen.” Dr. Saluja

“If you are healthy, this is the time most women are having their face and neck lifts. Results will always be best with a commitment to lifelong skin care and often combined with resurfacing.”. Dr. Novo

& Beyond

At anytime hair health is an important consideration. We love the natural supplement Nutrofol, and it’s impact is exponential with microneedling and platelet rich fibrin (PRF) to stimulate new and healthier growth.” Dr. Saluja
