Introducing: Gua Sha Facial

With the New Year here, many of us want to prioritize our skincare and anti-aging procedures. So if you are one of our patients who have an established skin care regimen, get your monthly Hydrafacials, lasers and injectables regularly and are wondering “What else can I do?” We have a very special little tool for you to add to your beauty and skin care regimen: Gua Sha!

Gua Sha is an ancient traditional healing technique from China which involves a small, smooth jade or rose quartz stone tool that gently massages facial fascia, muscles, and skin while stimulating specific points. The results are a more lifted, less puffy look and firmer, brighter and healthier looking skin.

A regular at-home Gua Sha routine can be completed in a matter of minutes. Firstly, the skin needs to be lubricated with a facial oil, we like Dr. Saluja’s Luminosity oil, in order to create good hydration and glide for the smooth-edged tool. Then repeated pressured strokes are performed starting with the neck and then face. Keep in mind to apply light to medium pressure with a slow smooth stroke.
