Restylane Silk® is designed with smaller molecules to achieve a more subtle enhancement, and it contains lidocaine for added comfort during treatment. Restylane Silk® is among various Restylane® treatments and other dermal injections provided by the team of specialists at Dermatology + Plastic Surgery, led by board-certified dermatologist Anita Saluja, MD and double board-certified plastic surgeon Rebecca Novo, MD. We treat residents of Melbourne, Indialantic, Viera, Brevard County, the beaches, and the surrounding areas in Central Florida.
We are skillful, artful and thoughtful in our injections. Additionally, we may use Accuvein vein finder to diminish the risk of bruising during the procedure, as well as advise you to use post-procedure Ocumend Gel Pads or Teoxane Deep Repair Balm to hasten recovery.
Restylane Silk® is a dermal filler treatment that has been approved by the FDA to provide “subtle” volume enhancement in such areas as the lips. We also use Silk® under the eyes (tear troughs) and in lateral forehead lines.
Restylane Silk®, like the other products in the Restylane® family, is a hyaluronic acid-based filler. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that our bodies produce naturally and is a polysaccharide that augments volume and hydration in the skin while also lubricating the joints. Hyaluronic acid can absorb and hold 1,000 times its own weight in water. It is this ability to retain moisture that contributes to plump, youthful-looking skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane Silk®, Restylane Lyft®, and Juvederm®, restore lost volume in the facial region, smoothing out wrinkles and lifting sagging skin.
The hyaluronic acid particles used in the Restylane Silk® formulation are smaller in size than those used in other fillers, making this treatment more suitable for filling in such precise areas as the vertical smoker’s lines that develop around the lip border, horizontal forehead lines, and delicate tissue underneath the eyes.
Restylane Silk® is administered using a fine needle or a micro-cannula, or tube-like surgical instrument, which does not cut blood vessels, reducing bruising and swelling and minimizing discomfort to the patient. Restylane Silk® also contains lidocaine, a gentle anesthetic agent, to minimize discomfort during treatment.
No real preparation is required for Restylane Silk® injections. Prior to treatment, your medical history will be assessed, and factors such as any other injections you may have received recently or any medications you may be taking will be taken into consideration. You may need to postpone Restylane® treatments if you have any infection or inflammatory or cystic acne until the condition clears up. Prior to the treatment, please inform us if you are on blood thinning medication or supplements or if you have a history of lip herpes.
Restylane Silk® treatments vary in price according to the number of treatment areas and the amount of product used. Cost estimates range from $500-$1000. Because insurance usually does not cover dermal fillers such as Restylane Silk®, our office provides flexible payment options to help patients manage treatment costs. We participate in Aspire Rewards. Please register for this prior to your appointment.
Restylane Silk® can subtly rejuvenate your facial appearance by restoring plumpness and definition to the lips and eye area.
